This year, Attleboro Area Interfaith Collaborative is celebrating 80 years of service to our community. Since our founding in 1946, we’ve put faith into action, built community compassion, and connected our neighbors across greater Attleboro. Today, we fight food insecurity through Food n’ Friends, provide interfaith hospital chaplaincy services through Interfaith Chaplaincy, and connect our neighbors to resources through Resource Junction.

As part of this special anniversary, we are inviting youth (grades 5–12) to participate in a creative project that reflects on compassion, community, and caring for others. Students are encouraged to submit artwork, poetry, or short essays that explore what it means to build a caring community.

Prompts:

  • What does “community” look like, sound like, or feel like?
  • What does it mean to be a good neighbor?
  • Share a story in which you’ve seen care in your community.
  • What’s one way you’d like to change the world, and why

Submission Guidelines:

  • Artwork: drawings, paintings, collages, or other!
    • Maximum size: 11 x 17 inches
    • Please submit art on sturdy paper (not framed)
  • Poetry
    • Up to 40 lines or one page
    • Short essays or reflections
    • Maximum length: 500 words
    • Typed if possible (handwritten is welcome for younger students)

Selected student works may be displayed during our Annual Spring Benefit, HUNGER to HOPE, and may also be featured in event materials or community displays as we celebrate 80 Years of Community Care.

Submissions should include the prompt being explored and include your name, grade level, school/house of worship/youth group, and teacher/contact person. Students may submit individually or as a group or class.
