
“It’s something I enjoy doing,” he says.
But Bubba has also known adversity. A longtime worker in the retail industry, his career was cut short by debilitating injuries. Now 52, the Taunton resident suffers from disability but has found his niche as a volunteer bringing needy folks to meals at a soup kitchen run by Food n’ Friends at Mansfield’s First Baptist Church.
The kitchen is one of several supported by the Attleboro Area Interfaith Collaborative.
“Being here makes me feel good inside,” said Bubba who has also cooked occasionally for the kitchen. “I like what the AAIC does to help the homeless and folks in need.”
