Guest & Volunteer

Rob, better known to his friends as Bubba, knows wrestling. From Bruno Sammartin to Brock Lesnar, Bubba is a connoisseur of the squared circle, and has even met a lot of the sport’s big stars. He also co-hosts a local cable TV show spotlighting the latest wrestling news.

“It’s something I enjoy doing,” he says.

But Bubba has also known adversity. A longtime worker in the retail industry, his career was cut short by debilitating injuries. Now 52, the Taunton resident suffers from disability but has found his niche as a volunteer bringing needy folks to meals at a soup kitchen run by Food n’ Friends at Mansfield’s First Baptist Church.

The kitchen is one of several supported by the Attleboro Area Interfaith Collaborative.

“Being here makes me feel good inside,” said Bubba who has also cooked occasionally for the kitchen. “I like what the AAIC does to help the homeless and folks in need.”
